MY DESIGN JOURNEY
I recently had the opportunity to be a guest on Design Biz Survival Guide with Rick Campos, where I share my journey in the design industry. From my time at Urban Outfitters to studying at the Design Institute of San Diego (Link: PORTFOLIO), I've experienced firsthand the various paths a career in design can take.
During the podcast, we delved into the unique challenges and opportunities presented by retail design, including creating displays that boost sales and designing showrooms from scratch during a pandemic. I also shared my approach to design, which emphasizes understanding demographics and connecting with the community.
One important aspect we touched upon was the significance of continuing education in design. I discussed my ongoing learning experiences in the field and highlighted the incredible opportunities available for designers at PIRCH.
For those of you exploring different paths in the design industry, I also shared some valuable advice based on my own experiences. And finally, I talked about my personal definition of success, which focuses on maintaining a healthy work-life balance and not taking feedback personally.
